I pressed a button, don’t know which one, and the toolbar at the bottom of my desktop disappeared. How do I get it back?

Assuming you are talking about the TASK BAR. The one with the START button on the left side and the time display on the right side.
It is just hidden. If you move the mouse pointer to the bottom on the screen the Task Bar will POP UP.
IF you Right Click on the TASK BAR and select properties and UN tick Auto Hide, then it will not disappear.
IT is also possible to move the task bar to the TOP or left or right sides of the screen. Just place the pointer in the middle of the task bar and drag the task bar to where you want it.

It’s also possible that you dragged it into itself (thin grey line at the bottom of the screen). Hover your cursor there; if it turns into a double-ended arrow, just left click & drag up. Presto – the taskbar is back.
